Again there are rumors about Assassin's Creed Ragnarok, the possible successor to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. According to vague information so far, a new leak is not at all stingy with details. On the contrary: the rumors concern information about possible gameplay mechanics, the game world and even a release of Assassin's Creed Ragnarok, whose name is actually rumored to be that.

A successor to Assassin's Creed Odyssey is eagerly awaited by fans. A leak had already made the rounds in November that contained information on the Size of the game world of Assassin's Creed Ragnarok presented. Now it is much more concrete: A comprehensive leak is said to have revealed a lot of details about the assassin game with a Viking setting. Among other things, it's about the game modes, characters and even the release of Assassin's Creed Ragnarok.

Assassin's Creed Ragnarok for next-gen consoles from September

As always, the “place to be” for leaks and rumors is Reddit*. There content from 4Chan was shared, which deals with the possible successor to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Accordingly, the title is actually Assassin's Creed Ragnarok, which then suggests a Viking setting. The game is intended for the next-generation consoles Playstation 5 and the Xbox Series X appear, but also for the current-gen representatives Playstation 4 and Xbox One. According to rumors, further information will be available as early as February, including the official announcement of the game as part of a Playstation event.

Up to four players can play cooperatively in a mode that is similar to that in Ghost Recon Wildlands, according to the leak. Only one character should be playable - either male or female, but always with the name “Jora”. The RPG elements are to be expanded significantly in Assassin's Creed Ragnarok. Among other things, there should be different classes with minor differences in the talent trees. Players earn experience in a system based on Skyrim, i.e. through the use of skills.

In addition, there should be a larger selection of weapons. The assassination tools can also be improved with runes. Because weapons have a limited shelf life, Assassin's Creed Ragnarok aims to encourage players to use their equipment efficiently and cleverly. A significantly smaller inventory supports the concept.

Otherwise there should be a lot of fighting: in conquests, on raids and in battles within a dynamic world. A reputation system should serve to extend the fun of the game. The leak also states that fighting and exploring could be significantly more intensive in terms of movement. So it depends on good timing when parrying and the world can be discovered with the help of a course mechanics including new animations.

Instead of an eagle, “Odin's gaze” is used as an exploration tool. In any case, the setting revolves around Nordic gods, magical runes and corresponding elemental damage improvements. The leak in November indicated that rivers could play a role in Assassin's Creed Ragnarok. The new rumors build on this and promise the return of ships ostensibly for exploration rather than fighting.

Players may already know in February whether the rumors or parts of them will come true. If the information at 4Chan is correct, Assassin's Creed Ragnarok will then be officially announced. If you believe the leak, the game will not be released long: it should start on September 29, 2020.
