Just reported about successful video game implementations in board game form and the next board game news is already coming on this very topic. Every child knows the classic board game Monopoly, the video game series Assassin's Creed from the house of the renowned publisher Ubisoft should at least be known to board game gamers. Winning Moves mixes a board game with a video game and the result is Assassin's Creed Monopoly. The game idea is similar to the American classic from the 40s and is only optically adapted to the Assassin's Creed universe. Publication is planned for November 2014.
Strong license
Using the strong license for a board game is smart, because the video game series about well-trained assassins has numerous fans worldwide. The Monopoly variant is likely to attract one or two gamers to the board game table at home. The Assassins have been swinging their daggers since 2007 and have successfully fought their way through different eras and lands. Now they are conquering the kitchen tables and collecting rent arrears. As a board game, Monopoly offers a popular and entertaining basic structure. In any case, I'm looking forward to the implementation and hope for similar visual treats to both Star Wars Monopoly variants that are my favorites so far.
The release date of Assassin's Creed Monopoly also seems wise, because two more offshoots from the video game series will appear in the autumn: Assassins's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Rouge. This fall will be an epic festival for AC fans. So preheat your thumbs and wipe the kitchen table!
