Animal Crossing: New Horizons is making a furious sales start. At least if you can believe the first set of figures published by the Japanese magazine Famitsu. Animal Crossing: New Horizons was sold around 1,9 million times as a game box over the counter in the first three days - and the trend is rising. The game reached half of the total sales of its predecessor New Leaf within a few days. And because Animal Crossing is booming, the Life-Sim also gets the first event of the season.

The good sales figures are of course not the reason for the first seasonal event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Rather, the season of the year, more precisely Easter time, plays a major role. In the surprisingly published Nintendo Direct the developers have shown what players can look forward to from April 1st: rabbits.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons celebrates "Bunny Day"

Oster is just around the corner - also in the life sim Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch. It will be colorful and fun from April 1st on "Bunny Day", which the cuddly villagers will then celebrate together. The focus is on a brand new character, Zipper:

As soon as the Bunny Daqy has started, fans can go on an egg hunt, in keeping with the theme of the seasonal event at Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There are also new craftable items that players can then temporarily craft. In order to participate in the season event, Animal Crossing: New Horizons must be updated to the current version 1.1.0, and an active internet connection is required when the event starts.

Exciting: Another event awaits the players in April – the “Earth Day”. It should be at the end of the month. In any case, the coming month will be quite busy in the village.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was only released a few days ago, but can already score with terrific sales figures. Almost the entire first delivery volume is said to have been sold in stores. The magazine Famitsu speaks of around 1,9 million boxes sold - in the first three days. Including digital sales, the game is said to have gone over the counter 2,5 million times in the first few days after its launch, according to analyst Daniel Ahmad. By now, Animal Crossing: New Horizons sales are likely to be much higher.

Another good indication of the game's success are the sales of the limited edition that was created especially for the release Nintendo Switch. While the hybrid console in the Animal Crossing look was initially available at the normal price, the sales prices are now significantly higher. The demand is there, the supply seems to be tight:

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is setting records and Nintendo is currently using a smart update and content policy to ensure that it could stay that way for the time being.

Nevertheless, what currently applies to many other video games also applies to the Life-Sim: due to the current coronavirus situation, delays are to be expected. Future DLCs for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which will be released a little later than planned, could be affected. Director Aya Kyogoku has confirmed this to the Washington Post. Fans should therefore not be surprised about postponed release dates for additional content. Health just comes first. According to Kyogoku, the delays are not certain.
