Charges just in time for the beginning of the year gamesindustry again invited some experts to make their predictions for the coming gaming year. One of them is Dr. Serkan Toto of Kantan Games, whose latest predictions often hit the mark. He is sure that an improved version of the Switch will come onto the market in 2020: the Nintendo Switch Per. And he also names a few features that the new console will bring with it.

Update from January 7th 2020:
The rumors seem to be growing. DigiTimes wants to know that Nintendo is not only working on the idea of a Switch Pro, but that mass production should start at the end of the first quarter of 2020. Accordingly, the new model could appear in the middle of the year.

This year the Nintendo Switch already three years old and sold through November 2019 over 41 million times worldwide (and who knows how many consoles were added during the Christmas season?). Last year, on the one hand, the Switch Lite appeared, a pure handheld console with stripped-down technology compared to the "large" Switch, and on the other, a revised version of the original console. This includes an improved battery life, faster working memory and revised JoyCons.

That could await us in 2020

With his forecast for the launch of a Switch Lite, the analyst Dr. Serkan Toto is right, as gamesindustry him In early 2019 to his opinion questioned.

“While the 2019 Switch Pro has been already reported to be in development by the Wall Street Journal, I also think Nintendo will offer a “Switch Lite” (or just keep the current version at a lower price) […]” (Source: gamesindustry.biz)

So he was half correct. He takes up the idea of the Nintendo Switch Pro again in his forecast for this year. He is absolutely certain that the new console will storm the market this year. At around € 360, the console is only slightly more expensive than the normal Switch at the time of its release, but it comes with a few chic new features.

According to Toto, on the one hand we have 4K support, larger game modules and completely overhauled, improved technology - he did not specify this statement in more detail. Toto also commented on the time and circled a period in late summer or autumn for the launch.

“There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will launch a “Switch Pro” in 2020, my guess is at $399. More specifically, I predict 4K support, bigger cartridge sizes, and of course beefed-up components. I also think the device will launch after the summer holidays to counter the roll-out of the PS5 and next-gen Xbox later in the year – along with a first-party, system-seller game.” (Source: gamesindustry.biz)

More predictions from the expert

In addition to his information about the possible Nintendo Switch Pro, said Dr. Serkan Toto on other topics regarding switch systems. For example, he claims that even more Xbox games will find their way to the Switch, that online members will be able to enjoy old N2020 games in 64 and that another app will come onto the market after Mario Kart Tour - possibly even with big names like Zelda or Smash Bros.

We will know in a year at the latest to what extent Toto's statements correspond to reality. Maybe we will soon learn something new, because loud rumors the next Nintendo Direct should already take place in January or February.
