The Alice games are recently popular cult classics among psychological horror games in the world of video games. The big fan base around American McGee`s Alice and his sequel Alice: Madness Returns can now look forward to a third part of the video game series.

Joint development with fans

The prequel is said to be Alice: Asylum and is set at the time of the young version of Alice. She tries traumatized to come to terms with the loss of her family.

"American is hard at work on design, art, and story for the next chapter in Alice's adventures. "Alice: Asylum" will present the story before "American McGee's Alice," with young Alice fighting through the trauma of losing her family."

American McGee

In order to implement the concept of Alice: Asylum, McGee must first offer EA a pitch for the video game, as the publisher owns the trademark rights. McGee himself would like to work with the fans on an appealing design, story and artwork for EA and describes the game as one of the first of its kind.

"World's first ever crowd-designed triple A game."

American McGee

Alice: Asylum is supposed to be the world's first jointly created triple A game. If the developed concept arrives at EA, the video game is to be financed through crowdfunding.

So far, the prerequisite for this is to support American McGee at Patreon. In return, the backers not only get an insight into the design and production processes right from the start, but can also directly influence them.

In the future, it is planned that users of social media can also actively help shape the video game. Patreon backers receive additional goodies thanks to their support. For example, they not only get an insight into exclusive updates, but can also test the playable elements in advance and receive in-game goodies, depending on the amount of money they are invested. It is also possible to mention the fan name in American McGee video publications with a support value of five dollars per month or more. But just following the project via newsletter or social media should be an incentive for EA to start publishing.
