It is no longer uncommon for successful or popular board games to make the leap to PC or console – and often the adaptations are even successful. Now Asmodee together with the development studio Red Square Games, the epic 4X strategy game Twilight Imperium is being released as a digital game.
In Twilight Imperium, up to eight players (with expansion) take on the roles of unique factions, each seeking to seize control of the galaxy. Combat, diplomacy, trade, and deception are the tools they use to achieve this – and things often get a little rough at the tabletop.

Twilight Imperium is an expansive gaming experience. Games last for many hours, often 14 or more. One thing is clear: this epic board game isn't for everyone. You have to like the theme, concept, and length of the game. However, if you commit to this title, you'll experience a board game in a large group in a way that few other board games can offer.
Twilight Imperium seems tailor-made to make the leap into the digital world. Randomly generated game environments and a system where you can use some support – it couldn't be more suitable. This is precisely where "Twilight Imperium Digital" comes in. According to the creators, the PC game sticks closely to the original, but also offers the advantages of a video game. In the case of Twilight Imperium, for example, this includes any kind of tracking of the current game status. "Without cleanup" – and without setup – the immersive 4X gameplay should ultimately be enjoyed. The animated 3D battles are particularly fitting, although they pale in comparison on the board game table, despite the game's overall epic scale.
