Until the XNUMXs and beyond, hardly anyone had staged voyeurism among neighbors as impressively as Alfred Hitchcock did during the heyday of his career with The Window to the Courtyard.

The setting, the mood, the story, the resolution - a lot of things fit in the feature film with James Stewart, Grace Kelly and Thelma Ritter in the leading roles. The film was also used again and again in later cinema history. The film also marks the beginning of the Paramount era and another phase of Hitchcock's success: classics such as Vertigo, The Invisible Third, Psycho, The Birds and Marnie followed.
The fact that the film can be experienced as a board game is particularly nice for fans of classic Hollywood cinema or Alfred Hitchcock's films, but the title from Prospero Hall also offers others an opportunity to get to know the beginnings of blockbuster cinema in a playful way. The game relies on a stylized look of the elements, i.e. does not use any images of the real film footage. Conceptually, it's about deduction - which comes close to the idea from the template: there, too, the tension arose from the connection between what was seen and conclusions.
So three to five players have to discover clues - from the rooms to people to suspicious objects - and derive their findings from them in order to possibly discover a murder. The board game for The Window to the Yard should play differently with each setup. The title has been available in stores since 2022, but there is no German version.
