The publisher Fantasy Flight Games has the two starter decks of the new trading card game Star Wars Unlimited announced. The trading card game is scheduled to appear next year.
Starting in 2024, fans will be able to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe on the card table and play out the family dispute between a son and his father at the start of the season “The Spark of a Rebellion”. Accordingly, game fans start on the side of the Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker or the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
Unique cards in the starter deck
For fans of trading card games, after a long dry spell with little to no new releases, things are gradually getting really expensive again: With the latest release of Disney Lorcana, the publisher Ravensburger is reaching into the wallets of fans, and next year Fantasy Flight Games or Asmodee or the Embracer Group also wants to get involved Have a piece of the cake. With the presentation of the two starter decks of the new trading card game Star Wars Unlimited It is now clear: real collecting fans will hardly want to miss the start.
The reason: The two sets contain unique cards that, at least in this design, will not be available in other packages. Fantasy Flight Games states that the iconic characters Leia Organa and Grand Moff Tarkin will only be included in this box in their starter versions.
There will be correspondingly designed card sleeves to match the two prefabricated starter decks in the duo box - these Luke and Vader arts sleeves will also be available worldwide from 2024.
Star Wars Unlimited is basically a classic trading card game with genre-typical basic rules that fans of titles like Magic: The Gathering or Disney Lorcana from Ravensburger already know. The biggest highlight of the new game from Fantasy Flight Games is probably the powerful license. It's about putting together a powerful deck and ultimately aiming to destroy the other player's base. Well-known characters, ships, locations and abilities from the Star Wars universe are used. According to what is currently known, the cards will be available in the starter deck and from boosters, but the focus is also on the random factor when purchasing booster packs, which is now considered controversial, but at the same time also on a secondary market for exchanging or selling cards at Asmodee.
Star Wars Unlimited will be released in 2024. The price of Star Wars Unlimited is still completely unknown, players should expect the usual market price, so the starter deck with two pre-built decks could cost around 30 to 40 euros.
