Everyone is waiting for the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 – but the Japanese electronics company simply has other plans: Nintendo has now introduced a new product that is surprising. It is even an exclusive offer at launch.
When it comes to online services, Nintendo is lagging behind its direct console competitors. However, the company now seems to want to do something to increase the number of subscribers – and it wants to achieve this with a new product of a different kind: “Alarmo”. What sounds like the name of an alarm clock turns out to be exactly that on closer inspection. Of course, it is not just any alarm clock, but a device in the Nintendo style. The interactive alarm clock will be available in stores in mid-January and is available to members of Nintendo Switch Available online in advance from the My Nintendo Store.
Nintendo has made itself talked about with the surprise. While fans are waiting for the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 wait, the company has come out with this really funny new announcement. For fans of characters from the Nintendo universe, the tool should even be a real hit.
“Alarmo”: Alarm clock with sensors
"Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo," the full name of the device, has sensors that react to the user's movements. This means that they can activate the snooze function with a movement or turn the alarm off completely by standing up. A total of 35 different scenes from five Nintendo Switch games are available as the morning alarm tone: Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4 and Ring Fit Adventure. Then all you have to do is set the time - and Alarmo does the rest.
The morning then begins with sounds and music from the selected scene. For example, users wake up in the Mushroom Kingdom of Mario and friends, plunge into the world of Princess Zelda into everyday adventure or give your day a fresh coat of paint with the Inklings from Splatoon 3 – to name just a few possibilities.

A look at Alarmo's statistics even shows how much you moved in your sleep. Users can also set an hourly tone to match their chosen song and choose between two morning alarm modes. The "Power Wake Up" increases the intensity of the alarm the longer you stay in bed, while the "Gentle Wake Up" maintains a constant intensity.
Waking up to the sounds of Zelda and Mario
If you prefer to silence your alarm the classic way by pressing the snooze button, you can do so with the "button alarm". In addition to waking up, Alarmo also makes falling asleep more pleasant: the "snooze sounds" function plays soothing music and sounds to help you relax at the set bedtime. If Alarmo has been linked to the user's Nintendo account, they will be able to download additional scene sounds through free updates in the future, including those from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Waking up to familiar melodies from your favorite Nintendo worlds will soon be possible with Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo. The interactive alarm clock adds a touch of Nintendo charm to any home and will be available in retail stores from mid-January.
Members of Nintendo Switch Online, you can purchase Alarmo as a limited-time exclusive offer from the My Nintendo Store later this week. The trailer on Nintendo's YouTube channel shows the new pick-me-up in action.
