Rumors do crop up regularly, and as much as one can doubt the veracity of these rumors, it ensures that fans can bridge the time until the official announcement. Until now, the scene has agreed that spring 2025 is the most likely time for the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. But a new leak is shaking that up. Everything might turn out completely differently - and that would be bad news for fans if the assumptions are correct.
Nintendo Switch 2: Production delays?
The previously assumed timetable based on the circulating rumors sounded promising: The Nintendo Switch 2 to be officially announced soon and then released in March or April 2025. Fans have recently been very keen to use these leaks as a guide, as this meant a short wait for the new console. Given the age of the Nintendo Switch, this seems to be long overdue. However, time is getting shorter with each passing day - meaning the chances of a release in spring 2025 are dwindling.
In a post on Famiboards, which has recently been the source of a growing number of rumors and leaks, something new has now emerged. The user “RandomlyRandom67” stated that he had details about the deliveries of the supposedly necessary Components for the Nintendo Switch 2.
The suspected problem: mass production is said not to have started in August. This is what industry insiders have previously assumed. Ultimately, the start of the production phase has a huge impact on the release of the console and thus also on the date on which the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released. According to the new rumor, mass production has still not started. This in turn would make a release in spring 2025 quite unlikely, as supply bottlenecks at the launch of the new console would then be almost unavoidable.
In addition, if the rumor is true, even a release in the first half of 2025 could be in jeopardy.
