The Japanese console company announced a slew of new games for Nintendo Switch in the latest Nintendo Direct. However, the company still owed fans one highly anticipated title: Mario Odyssey 2. At least there were a few Super Mario surprises for its 40th anniversary.
40 years ago Super Mario Bros. released in Japan. To mark the occasion, fans can look forward to several games for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, an animated film, and other activities. Visitors to the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto will also have the opportunity to view a display celebrating the anniversary, as well as Super Mario illustrations and pixel art. Additionally, admission tickets will feature a new design for a limited time.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie: Mr. Miyamoto presented a short video revealing the name of the new animated film based on the world of Super Mario. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie launches worldwide on 3 April 2026 in the cinemas.

Metroid Prime 4: BeyondAfter an unexpected incident, Samus finds herself on the mysterious planet Viewros. To complete the adventure, players will scan the environment for clues and use their equipment and weapons wisely. They will also have access to Samus's new psychic abilities—as well as her technologically advanced bike, Vi-O-La, which the bounty hunter uses to explore the environment. Players will need to utilize all these and more to survive and escape Viewros. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition appears on 4.
