Playing the guitar has to be learned, and soon it will also be possible to play. At least if the French publisher Ubisoft has its way, which with Rocksmith + is launching a new subscription service that should be able to do just that. Rocksmith + is compatible with acoustic, electric, and bass guitars and has thousands of songs to launch.

Ubisoft announced today at Ubisoft Forward Rocksmith +, a new subscription service that teaches players how to play guitar and bass based on their favorite songs. Building on the award-winning Rocksmith method that taught nearly five million people to play the guitar, Rocksmith + will be released exclusively for Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store in the summer of 2021. Rocksmith + will also be available for Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 2021, Xbox One and PlayStation 5 in autumn 4, as well as for iOS and Android devices at a later date.

Make music in a playful way

Rocksmith + is compatible with acoustic, electric, and bass guitars and has thousands of songs to launch. In the future, the number of songs will grow to millions, including titles from the genres of rock, classical, indie, alternative, hip-hop, pop, metal, country, Latin, R&B and many more. To begin with, Rocksmith + will have a variety of authentic arrangements that play back the songs as the artists originally played them.

Plus, all of the songs in the library will be playable with chord tables that you can hum and jam along to.
In addition, a whole host of new and improved practice tools can be used, including Riff Repeater, with which specific riffs in favorite songs can be practiced directly, or Adaptive Difficulty, thanks to which Rocksmith + dynamically adapts to the playing strength of guitar players as they play. These tools are designed to give users control over their learning process. Rocksmith + will be available for € 14,99 per month for a 1-month subscription, € 39,99 for a 3-month subscription, and € 99,99 for a 12-month subscription.

Rocksmith + was developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, the team behind Rocksmith who have offered guitar lessons for over ten years. Rocksmith + is the only subscription service that combines interactive music learning with official songmasters and powerful real-time feedback. 95 percent of Rocksmith guitar players have improved their skills, and Rocksmith + builds on this proven method with new songs, learning modes, and practice tools added in the years to come. In addition to improving their mechanics, users also get access to free online videos to learn about proper technique, music theory, equipment, instrument maintenance, and more.

An acoustic or electric guitar and amplifier can also be played using the Rocksmith + Connect Mobile App, which offers phone-as-mic technology. By pairing the mobile device with a PC or console, the built-in microphone can take off the guitar - additional equipment is no longer necessary. Rocksmith + is also compatible with consoles using Rocksmith's Real Tone Cable. For PC, Rocksmith + is compatible with the Real Tone Cable or existing guitar interfaces for electrical and acoustic-electrical instruments.

Rocksmith + is also a partner of Gibson, Epiphone, Kramer, Ibanez, Ernie Ball, Ernie Ball Music Man, Marshall, Orange and Mesa / Boogie.
Rocksmith Workshop is a new user-generated content system that allows arrangements to be added to the library from a list of pre-licensed songs. This puts the music community at the center of Rocksmith +. For the first time, the Rocksmith community has more control over adding their desired arrangements at any time. The Rocksmith Workshop, which is open to the public, will make it possible to create all aspects of a song - from the transcription to the tones. Community arrangements are checked for their quality and are available to all users.

Rocksmith + has world-class learning tools that make learning music as easy as possible. But even the best music learning software in the world has to be fine-tuned for the millions of songs that are added over time.
