Miniature painting competition at the gaming fair
Together with Game Workshop, the organizer of the traditional competition, a special area at SPIEL Essen will highlight and present the work of the talented painters. This prestigious award makes the already strong miniatures and painting section at the gaming fair even more interesting for fans.
“We are thrilled that the Golden Demon in Europe is taking place at SPIEL this year,” says Carol Rapp, managing director of Merz Verlag, which organizes SPIEL. “It's incredible what the painters are creating and we're all really looking forward to the fantastic entries for the competition. For SPIEL, the prize is a great addition that fits in perfectly with our growing fan base for miniatures and makes it easier for European painters to submit their works of art.”
The Golden Demon is a miniature painting competition that has been running in the United Kingdom since 1987 and is organized by Games Workshop, the makers of Warhammer. Painters can submit their painted miniatures in various categories and compete against each other. A jury of experts will decide on the winners of each category, who will have the honor of receiving the legendary Slayer Sword.
