Funtails has started pre-orders for the social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower. The title will be available fully localized.
The announcement of the German version of Blood on the Clocktower is followed by another one: pre-orders are now possible, as the publisher Funtails announces. This is good news for fans. However, there is also a bad one: the game is more expensive in stores than initially announced, even if only by ten euros.
Blood on the Clocktower costs almost 160 euros
All those who get Blood on the Clocktower through a pre-order campaign can save a few euros. The extensive social deduction game is available for 130 thalers, which will later be available for regular purchase, but will then be around 20 percent more expensive. Funtails was unable to maintain the initially announced price of 145 euros, but the publisher is now quoting 155 euros as the RRP. Communication with the partners revealed that the price of the end product had to be increased, it was said.
The big surprise will be how well Blood on the Clocktower will sell. Although the game is considered by connoisseurs of the genre to be a kind of Holy Grail among board games with a social deduction concept, at the same time it is extremely extensive and requires some time to get used to. Nevertheless, the hype surrounding the title could mean that Blood on the Clocktower no longer has to lead a niche existence. However, the entry price is too high to simply try out the game. Close-knit gaming communities could pool their coins to bring the German version of Blood on the Clocktower to the table as a shared experience.
