Early bird promotion successful
The results of the gamescom early bird campaign have been confirmed: Up until February 14, companies had the opportunity to secure a place at the world's largest event for computer and video games at discounted rates. More exhibitors have made use of this compared to the same time last year: The early bird result for gamescom 2019 is eight percent above the previous year.
The booked space also showed a very good result of +10 percent compared to the same point in the previous year. Gamescom is also in high demand internationally: registrations were received from 28 countries by the end of the first booking phase. The great diversity of the currently registered exhibitors, who reflect all facets of the medium, is also positive. In combination with a strong event program, game fans from all over the world can look forward to a comprehensive range of gaming options and a top-class event experience.
The following international top players and well-known companies from the computer and video game industry have secured their place at gamescom 2019: 2K Games, ak tronic, Amazon Games, astragon Entertainment, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bethesda Softworks, Capcom, Deep Silver ( Koch Media), Electronic Arts, Facebook, Giga-Byte Technology, Kalypso Media, Microsoft / Xbox, Nintendo, Square Enix, THQ Nordic, Turtle Entertainment / ESL, Ubisoft, Wargaming and Youtube Gaming. The following exhibitors from the hardware segment have also already confirmed their participation in gamescom 2019: Alternate, Caseking, DXRacer, Medion, Razer and Trust Gaming. And the booking status in the merchandise area is also first class: almost 90 merchandise providers have already confirmed their entry. Compared to the same time last year, the current result is plus 24 percent.

The newly designed indie area, which will stand out from other areas of the entertainment area in terms of look and feel, will celebrate its premiere at gamescom 2019. The central component is the popular Indie Arena Booth. It has been one of the highlights for many gamescom visitors for years and is a firmly planned destination as part of the gamescom visit. This also applies to 2019, because the organizers also confirmed their participation in gamescom in the first registration phase.
Numerous exciting new releases and creative titles will be waiting for visitors at the Indie Arena Booth - further offers from independent developers will perfectly complement the offer in the new indie area. And the top topic of eSports will also have a strong presence at gamescom 2019: With Turtle Entertainment / ESL, one of the top players is already on board.
Strong interest from abroad
In the first registration phase, there is also great interest from foreign companies. Registrations were received from a total of 28 countries. It is already clear that country pavilions from Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Great Britain, Korea, Malta, Poland, Sweden, Singapore, Spain and the USA will be present in the business area. A total of 12 pavilions are already firmly planned - and the trend is rising. This first result shows the increasing international importance of gamescom as a meeting point and business platform for the games industry.
In 2018, a total of 1.037 exhibitors from 56 countries presented their innovations at gamescom. Around 370.000 visitors, including 31.200 trade visitors, were guests at the world's largest event for computer and video games in Cologne.
