When Tim Burton takes a seat in the director's chair, exceptional, visually stunning films are the result. After Alice in Wonderland (2010), Dumbo is his second live-action production of a Disney classic. Disney's "Dumbo" opens in German cinemas on March 28th. To get in the mood, Disney has now released a featurette for the movie.
Do Dumbo Again!
The squishy elephant, Dumbo is more than just a cinematic re-imagining of a Disney classic: it's a film for children and for adults who want to remember their childhood. Hardly any of today's adults has not seen "Dumbo": at least that's what we claim.
The template, which was awarded an Oscar for the best film music, has been thrilling cartoon fans for decades - and is now coming to the cinemas as a modern reinterpretation. With that in mind: Fly, Dumbo! Fly
The Max Medici (Danny DeVito) circus has seen better days. And now there is also a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make it a target for scorn and ridicule. The former circus star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell), just returned from the war, is supposed to remedy the situation. And when Holt's children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) find out that Dumbo can fly, it's not just the troubled circus troupe who put their hopes in the little pachyderm. The convincing entrepreneur VA Vandevere (Michael Keaton) smells big money and wants to persuade Medici to sell the little Dumbo as an attraction for his amusement park….
The new edition is a film with star cast: Colin Farrell ("Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them"), Danny DeVito ("Big Fish"), Eva Green ("The Island Of Special Children") and Michael Keaton (" Spider-Man: Homecoming ”) as well as the two child actors Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins can be seen in the main human roles, while Dumbo and other four-legged friends are brought to life through the most modern visual effects.
The creative team also brings together masters of their craft: cameraman Ben Davis (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Oscar®-winning production designer Rick Heinrichs (“Star Wars: The Last Jedi"), four-time Academy Award®-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood ("Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"), editor Chris Lebenzon ("Malificent") and makeup designer Paul Gooch ("Alice in Wonderland") ").
