Foxy is a game without a particularly long story. Like savvy foxes, we observe the animals we encounter on our forays. Round after round, a card is revealed. We must remember the animals depicted on the cards. Every single animal is important!
Next, we note how often we've seen the animals on the map throughout the game. With so many animals, this can be quite difficult, and we can easily mix up the numbers! The higher the number we write down, the more points we get. However, if we overestimate, we don't get any points at all.
The whole thing takes place over a total of 20 rounds. This means we have to remember 20 animals, not just one per card. Up to three animals can be hidden on a card! With a total of nine animal species, that can be quite challenging. If you're absolutely sure about a number, you can circle your current guess once per game. If it's exactly right, you get double the points for that guess. If it's wrong, you've lost.
At the end, all points are added up. Correct guesses remain, while incorrect ones are eliminated. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.
Foxy is simple, but a lot of fun. And the Spiel des Jahres jury was absolutely right. It's not necessarily a children's game, even though many players see it as such. We had a lot of fun with it, even without children! It can be played quickly in 15 minutes and is perfect for starting or ending a game night. It's also a great way to relax after work, whether with others or solo: Foxy is simply a great game to play.
