New releases for Nintendo Switch are coming onto the market non-stop. This time it is the publisher 2K Games and the development studio Firaxis who want to do something good for fans - with real hits. Firaxis? Wait a minute, they are ... Exactly, the makers of Borderlands, Bioshock and X-COM 2. All three titles appear for Nintendo Switch in their extensive collection editions. The release is not planned for sometime: The three classics will be on the shelves on May 29th.

Gone are the days when Nintendo was all about family-friendly entertainment. The Nintendo Switch has long since established itself as a console for adults. With the three new releases from publisher 2K Games, other fairly adult titles are finding their way onto the hybrid console: With BioShock: The Collection, XCOM 2 Collection and the Borderlands Legendary Collection, games are being implemented for the Nintendo Switch that were also real bestsellers on other platforms.

Three classics appear as extensive collections

Instead of bringing the series offshoots individually to the hybrid console, BioShock, XCOM 2 and Borderlands appear directly as extensive collections. Fans therefore receive not three, but a total of seven full-price games as well as expansions and DLCs. Also included is the great add-on “War of the Chosen” for XCOM 2.

We're excited to bring some of our biggest brands to the Nintendo Switch platform. These are some of our most successful games and franchises that have captivated millions of fans around the world. By launching on Nintendo Switch, we're adding an element of mobility to these games and making them accessible to even more gamers.

Each of the three collections received top ratings for other platforms. Without exaggeration, it can even be said that some of the best video games of the past few years are making their way onto the Nintendo Switch with these titles.

For 50 euros each there is a lot of fun

The collections of the three games each cost 49,99 euros. But there is also plenty of entertainment for that. Each collection will contain a combination of main games and downloadable expansions. This means the following content:

Until the release of the three classics on May 29th, players will have to be patient. In the meantime, however, you can already do something: namely, create space in the memory of the Nintendo Switch.

The editions of Borderlands, Bioshock and XCOM2 for Nintendo Switch require a few gigabytes of storage space on the console or alternatively on the memory card. The Bioshock Collection is available in stores on a 16 GB memory card; later game content and add-ons require space on the switch. XCOM 2 comes on a physical software card with eight gigabytes; the total size of the download should not exceed 24 gigabytes, informs 2K Games in the official announcement.

Ridiculous, given the size of the Borderlands Collection. A total of around 42 gigabytes must also be downloaded, around seven GB for the Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition and another 35 GB for the second part and the pre-sequel.

Borderlands, Bioshock and XCOM 2 will be available for Nintendo Switch on May 29th, including via The Amazon*.
